I got buddies that go to the Devils Lake area every year, they go around the 2nd weekend in October. I know there is a thread on here somewhere about new regs trying to be passed into law, not sure if it happened.

If you are a first time to NoDak I would stay away from the Devil's lake region. I've heard it's posted hard these days. Just what I've heard. In my opinion if you stay south or south west of Devil's Lake you won't have a problem finding birds or unposted fields. Went out there in fall of 2005 and saw a lot more posted land than I had ever before and we hunt like 5 hours away from Devil's lake.

devils lake area is good, you can find places to hunt there no problem, dont believe everything you read, we hunt nodak around devils lake and we go up in the middle of october and pound the ducks, last season we hunted in Lakota and Michigan and it was a slaughter fest on puddlers and divers

Good tip to know. We ran into a group of hunters on our way out there last year and they hunted around devil's lake. They said it was really posted up and leased out. We don't go there anyways because we don't have a problem killin a lot of birds where we hunt though. We got a little sweet spot that doesn't get much attention from other hunters. We found out even if its posted GO ASK. Some of those farmers have turned on guides because of them guiding on their property w/out permission. We got in on 10.000 square acre farm that was posted because of that situation. Just couldn't drive in his fields but it was worth it. His fields had all the birds.
