Ok goose experts i need a little advice or someone to tell me it's just the birds...i have been out twice in the last five days up here in ND and the birds are starting to move in this week i'd say we gained five thousand where i have been scouting. Here's my problem. I have come up with one bird the last two hunts and can't figure it out. I have scouted both the morning and evening before my two hunts and watched the birds come in without hesitation both times. I watched how they were feeding and where they liked to land best. I set up right on the X both times with feathers and SH*T everywhere. But when the birds finally flew the previous weekend they got off the water way East of me and kept going I never had so much as a bird within 1 mile of my dekes. So came home with a 0 and chalked it up to the birds just being new to the area without much pressure and plenty of fields for feeding they just changed and it just so happened to be the morning i was going to hunt them...does this sound reasonable? Also the wind had switched to the South and was blowing much harder than the previous day. Now for this mornings hunt. Watched them yesterday morning and evening they came in nice and low and landed on first approach also there were more there in the evening than morning so i though this should be a good one wind was setting up in our favor 10-15 out of the South. Which was what i wanted since they were coming from the north they wouldn't have to circle the dekes to land. Sunrise came had a good looking spread of 5 doz Bigfoots and a dozen GHG FFD. Waited with anticipation and the first birds got off the water headed are way and turned about 1/2 short and landed on a different field across the road where no birds had been feeding the previous day. I was able to pull a loner out of the group with aggressive flagging and calling which landed almost at my feet so he was a done deal and thought if they keep coming like that it should be a successfull morning...Sad to say that was the only bird that even game me an honest look. The rest followed suit and landed with the birds across the road. I am dumbfounded I did my homework, scouted twice, was on the X, and had a favorable wind. Two hunts in a row and hardly a look i can't figure it out? Is it the warm weather? the fact there are isn't much pressure on the birds and there are plenty of feeding options? Jumpy Migrators? Also wanted to add that there were two combines and grain trucks in the field next to me this morning they were just moving into to harvest the Beans as sun was going down last evening but the birds stayed and didn't seem to mind? I'm beating myself up over this and getting frustrated? Any thoughts Goose gods?

sounds like ya might wanna go where they havent been.as for the x, the geese need to be in the same field more than one time for it to be an X.with alot of fields avalable and no pressure they are free to roam around and take there time. time is on your side, just setup those big foots and flag and call and before ya know it they will be where you are.. good luck.............R
