It's about time. We are going to have a spring depredation hunt on canadians at the end of the month and extending into march. The hunts are for small canadians on the north coast. Going to have me some fun.

Im thinkin that could be kind of an issue since honkers mate for life, so if one gets shot the other one is screwed so instead of killing noe your really killing 7 or 8 - the 2 mates and 5 or 6 that would have been born and raised by those two

We are having a depredation hunt on the small darks in the Northwest corner of the state. The population of aleutians has exploded and is destroying all of the grasslands in Humboldt Bay. The population has gone from a few birds (most thought they were actually extinct) to now over 100,000 birds in just under 20 years.
This is very similar to the Mid Cont snow goose populations.

The geese are staging in Humboldt and Del Norte Counties feeding on that good grass (hippie lettuce). The cattle ranchers and dairymen are sick of the geese eating the grass that is for thier cattle. Has been a problem for them for last couple of years due to the population explosion of those little buggers.
