After watching the Molt Gear video "The Goose Society," I noticed that when they set up, they usually grouped their field blinds together. I've always spread our blinds apart from one end of the decoys to the other. How do you guys normally set up yours? And, why would they set them up that way? I would think it'd be easier to hide them separately rather than in a big group.

Thanks,
Doug

I used to set mine up spread apart, but now I set them up right next to each other. I have noticed that when they are set up next to eachother you dont have the problem of shooting your buddy. It is harder to swing across the person next to you. it is more for safety. we hunt in wheat fields so we rake up more stubble and make it look like a bail broke when they bailed it. then we set our decoys up around them and put a few between the blinds its hard to tell they are there.just remember to spread out your stubble so that the blinds dont cast shadows.

agree. I think it is a lot safer all the blinds together.

I guess that makes sense, it just seems like you're sacrificing a lot of range.

Twentybucks, you say that like it's happened before?

We usually spread ours out about 5 feet apart or so. Don't sacrifice to much range and doesn't look like blobs scattered across the spread.

Certain situations I will spread them apart further. Like if the wind is soft. That way you can move them round the spread without moving decoys. But on a stiff wind I will leave room to fit a decoy in between them so the shells arent hitting you buddy in the face.
