My buddy got his info back on his double banded mallard. Banded 9/9/06 in Badger, Minn. and recovered on 10/30/06 in Southern, OH. That was a quick recovery and the bird moved a lot farther than I thought it would without any cold weather.

Last band I shot was killed in Arkansas in Nov 2001 and was banded 3 months earlier in S. Dakota. Not a band since. Talk about goin dry.

We had I guy here that shot a banded mallard this season that was banded in Norht Carolina in I think 2002 and recovered here in Washington state. I wouldn't have thought a bird would cross that many fly ways.

I have taken only 4 bands, but they all have been from Manitoba and I live in Iowa. Kind of interesting that they all have been from the same place. Oldest was an 8 almost 9 year old bird. The others averaged 4 years old
