my buddy kind of went on a call buying binge and picked up a brand new showtime a few weeks ago. My question is are all showtimes super hard to blow? from what hes said its supposed to be a comp call and impossible to stick. But it seems like it takes a whole breath to get about one or two notes out of it. Any ideas? or is that just how those calls are made?

post it on the ask the pro's and find where the closest staffer is to you guys....they will tune it for free to his liking...remember you work the call not the call working you...

I've had a Showtime for a couple of years and find it takes less air to work than other calls. I would also agree with Tim K, the owner makes the call work for him, not the other way around. IMO, the Showtime is the best call FMH offers.

Of course, who am I?

does the showtime have the same inserts as the SMH? because when i first looked at the call i told him i thought it had the wrong guts in it because i thought it said SMH on the guts. Maybe im remembering incorrectly. ive blown the call after it had been tuned by a big goose hunter around here, and it takes A LOT of air to move that reed.

The barrel on the show time is shorter than the barrel on a SMH and the insert on the showtime is longer on the SMH... Same guts in all the calls... they all say FM Strait Meat on the back.. some of the older calls had black or clear guts in them.. and poly carbs have gray guts in them.. just a different material, creating a different sound is all thats about.. the call is probably tuned incorrectly if its difficult.. If you cant find any pro staff in your area, PM me and I can either help you do it your self or you can send it to me or the shop and get it fixed up for ya. Good luck!

could anyone possibly post a pic of how everything should look? so i could see if maybe he has his guts positioned wrong. Im not sure we had messed with it for about an hour when he first got it, and we are no experts. He took it to this other guy who tuned it and said he got it sounding good, but said he would never use it bc of how much air it took to blow. it just seems strange i dont think its setup right bc being a comp call or whatever it should not take that much air bc you would pass out trying to blow a routine.

I have a showtime and it takes just the right amount of pressure to blow and sounds great.
