well im sure they notice differences.. but im not sure if it scares them since not every goose is the same. we have bigfoots, judges, averys, and FA's all out at once, and there is some definate differences... doesnt stop the killin tho

They all are pretty much similar in color....but there are suttle differences....like some have ver very white breasts while others have specks of grey on them...i look at it like this.....look up at most birds flying in the sky...what color are they....BLack....doesnt matter what color the bird....i think the same thing goes for geese in the air looking down....im sure its more of a Smudge of color rather than distinct color differences and by the time they get close enough to tell the color difference....they should already be dead......just my $.02

thats like saying all humans look the same.. more specifically caucasians, since we are talking about canadas. to us the geese look pretty much the same, but im sure that they have different appearances such as we, humans do.

I read somewhere on an other forum about the part of their brains that judge size and other things like that isnt developed enough to tell the difference. Someone do a google search on it, i would but im too lazy

Im not sure but I was told along time ago that they have no depth perception because they only see in 2D, but I'm not 100% sure on that one.

ya all ever heard y ducks and geese back peddle when landing,,cause they have no depth perception and cant tell where the ground is,,there wings flap like that cause they can feel how close the ground is with the wind beating off there wings,,and ducks can sleep half there brain while the other half is watching out for predators,,but who really knows????

idk on that one, somedays I think it does and some i don't. Somedays I wonder how a goose can be so stupid, and the next day they outsmart me.

Yep like iowa said, gees (i dunno about ducks) have no depth perception. I saw somewhere that a guy uses a blind probably 6 feet long by 4 feet wide and 4 or 5 feet high that is painted up like a canada goose and has a head and neck thats a good 3 feet long prolly. Looked really goofy. I think it was a du magazine a while back.

No way thats true? Why can geese tell the difference between silohettes and full bodys? They definetly can at least the geese i hunt. You can not kill them over silohettes anymore. As for color its makes a difference i hunted with 12 bigfoots and 12 stuffers for an experiment. I killed alot more geese over stuffers.

there eyes are on the side of there head which doesnt allow them to have very good depth perception...thats why when you ever go next to geese in a park they turn there head to the side when they look at you

Sillys disappear on the goose when they get over them, that would be why you don have as much luck over them.

Yet, ***elry crew is right. I noticed that especially while turkey hunting. You don't really think of it until it looks like a turkey is looking to the left or right of you and then you move and the turkey busts you. Same head style as geese....eyes on either side of head unlike us.
