Well, had some boys from Chicago down for the weekend to get some snows. Scouted my ass off all day friday, and at first had no luck. Finally stumbled across a group late friday afternoon and they led me to the motherload. I found a field that was holding, and this is no lie, at least 100,000 birds. I spent the next 2 hours tracking down the farmer, and finally got permission to hunt. Went back, set up dekes and then had to wait till the morning. Got to the field in the morning and had geese on us at legal shooting time. We hunted till noon and ended with 32 birds. It was a pretty steady hunt. Sunday was a different story all together. We hunted the same field and had even better success. We only hunted till about 10:30 as the guys had a long drive home, but we ended up with 67 birds by 10:30. It was a fast and furious morning. Attached are some pictures from the weekend. The first two are from Saturday's hunt, one with just the Chicago guys and one with the whole crew. The last pic is the pile from Sunday morning. It was definitely a good weekend.

No, no bling on this trip. We saw two collars while birds were working. I tried to keep my eyes on them, but when the birds came back around I lost them. Hopefully this weekend we can get some ***elry.

Silver - Webb City is down by Joplin in the SW corner of the state.
Buffle - We have a ton of snows right now, it just took some work to find them as they aren't using their normal spots.

honkerhunter, here is a quote from labsd in an earlier thread....
We mainly decoy them, using over 1000 rags and about 200 shells. We do alright. We have those awesome days and then we also have those days when we don't shoot a bird.
So there ya go ubd. Thought I'd help out with your ? since lab doesnt seem to be on here a whole lot....yet   He'll get addicted soon enough jsut like all of us.

The quote that killer miller used on decoys is usually correct, but this weekend was a different story. When I went to put out the rags, I forgot the punch for the ground. Since it was frozen, i was only able to get about 3 or 4 hundred in the ground. We had to hunt over a scaled down spread, but it didn't seem to matter too much this weekend.
As for those of you who want to come hunt, shoot me a pm and we can discuss more details. We are pretty much full this year, with a few spots here or there, but there is always next year.
