Hey boys, why do you put that stuff on the o-rings? So they dont dry out and break or what?

I wouldn't use white lithium grease, that stuff is just plain messy, plus if itcomes in contact with your mucous membraines over a prolonged period of time, you could be looking at serious health issues.

Thanks for the tip boys. Ive never put anything on mine and Ive had it about a year and a half. I probably better put something on them. I havent even ever checked them. All I know is they havent rotted out yet. I better check 'em out.

How often should this be done? My SMH is over a year old and I have never needed to lube the O rings in it. I just checked and they are in excellent shape.

Gary....

I give mine a little douse about once a year. If you are constantly taking your calls apart to clean them or retune them...you may need to do it more often. It takes quite a bit to crack or rot one of the o-rings, but it does happen....and when it does...typically the person is not very happy as the insert may fall out!

Call maintenance is VERY important fellas!!!!

Thanks for the info Mark. I take mine apart more then I should and will keep an eye on the o rings to make sure they are not drying out. :)
