So in boulder county praire doggs are protected. What does everybody think about that? Me personally, i love to watch those little mothas expolode at about 100 yards. Figure since goose is over this weekend, i better try to find some land to hunt some of these doggs since i cant do it here!

Anybody got doggs need shootin in colorado?

smoke everyone of the plague ridden bastages. Talk to virtually any rancher with PDs on his property and you'll get a yes...

how do you hunt praire dogs. do you sit in the back of a truck with a bazooka of a gun and a 12 pack and them shoot em at 500yards?

I use a 17HMR with a 4 - 22 scope for the most part - very good out to about 200, can occassionally get 'em at 300, but it's a bit of a 'cast'...they're making scoeps for the 17 now with a BDC that wouljd probably help, but we can mostly get our shots between 100 and 200... The 17 HMR is a nice inexpensive round to shoot, so you can have a day's worth of fun for a few bucks...

I mostly spot and stalk - can generally get to a property, walk out and set up, wait a bit and they'll start poking their heads up...after shooting out one town, pick up, move and do it again...

I shoot my 17 hmr at them as well. But have lately switched to the 10-22.

We throw a mattress in the back of the truck and lay out with the guns on the tailgate. (larger caliber guns are not recommended for this!) Then it's just a matter of getting as many as you can. The 22 is quiet enough that can you shoot most of an afternoon on the same town.
