Killer Miller

Heys boys just curious what kind of guns you guys shoot. But I already know what the real killers shoot...........BENELLI SUPER BLACK EAGLE (A.K.A. BLACK DEATH) Just kidding boys. Whatever works for ya. I shoot a black synthetic SBE 1. Its only jammed on me twice and I've hunted it hard for 3 years. (Besides light target loads when shootin' clays) And the only reason it jammed was 'cause it was filthy dirty.

been shooting a wood stock remington 870 express pump for 4 years n never had it jam except for when i put the shell in backwards (my fault) but otherwise never has jammed most reliable gun out there i think

I like to Shoot 3 different Guns
My first Pick is my Beretta A391 Extrema 3.5 for those big honkers and long shot ducks.
My gun Istarted on was my Rem 1100 L.H. Trap model.
My newest and cheapest gun is a Charles Daly pump 3in. that is max four camo. Purchased a DU raffel ticket and won!
That was my lucky weekend I won a gun, mojo decoy, and other goodies. The next day shot a double banded bird worth $100!

I shoot a Browning BPS 10 gauge and love it! I reload my own stuff so I can shoot it for cheap.

I am not a big fan of auto-loaders in waterfowl hunting, I prefer pump actions, that being said. I shoot a Max-4 Benelli Nova with 26"barrel and a Browning BPS 10 Gauge with 26" barrel. I also have a Black Nova as a Back up.

Beretta Xtrema 3.5 the old version. Still can't be beat. It's been the cause of many a duck and goose's demise.

I would Really like to buy a BPS 10 Gauge. I have shot them before and loved it. If it does the same to a bird as it did to the clay piegon i shot(powderized it), it could really knock them out of the sky!

Max4Gooser
12-13-2005, 05:15 PM
They will put the hurts on them at pretty good ranges, and the recoile doesn't seem any worse than the 3.5 mags out of the nova.

IowaMigr8tor
12-13-2005, 05:21 PM
I feel the same way I don't think it kicks more than the 3.5 in mags out of my A391 Extreama. I heard that Beneli was going to come out with a 10 gauge but i dont know if it is true or not but it would be an awsome gun for shure

Max4Gooser

If and When Benelli brings out the big 10 gauge, I will have to buy one.

geneva bob:
This is just an observation from working at a gunsmith that you won't be happy with a Stoger. Even thought they are made by the same people as benelli doesn't mean they are the same quality. I have just seen too many come through the door and people are overall disappointed.
Not trying to shoot your future purchase down, it is just my observation.

Max4Gooser
12-13-2005, 10:49 PM
Actually the Stoegers are made in Turkey, by a different company, they are licensed copies of the Benelli M1 for the most part, Benelli owns Stoeger, which is really nothing more than an importer, they do not produce their own guns. I have heard a few horror stories, but have heard a lot more good things about them than bad.

No offense taken. I just wanted to make shure I didn't look like an idiot, thanks for expounding on that for me.
When I worked for the Gunsmith labor was free and parts I think were 20% or @ cost depending on price. Guns were @ price however there isn't much markup on guns so you might save $50-90 at the most. I was looking at a Franchi and it was $626 I think @ cost and $699 @ Retail. Franchi 912.
Had to quit, paid fire academy was a better deal. I got paid more and had to pass all tests above a certin % and that was more important to build on my professional carreer.

Benelli imports Stoeger and Franchi. Berretta Owns Benelli. So there is one big confusing spiderweb for you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Licensed copies, for the most part? About the only thing the same between the stoeger and any Benelli is the rotating bolt. They are both using an inertia driven system. Benelli uses the spring and "piston" In the butt of the gun, Stoeger uses a spring and Magazine slide. Closer to the Beretta Pintail than the M1.

Are the Stoegers a good gun? You bet. Best $400 auto loader on the market. But with anything you get what you put into it. People see Benelli on the box as an importer and think they are buying a Benelli. They are not the same.

I shoot a SBE II with a Patternmaster Extended Choke Tube at ducks and geese, that setup kills em real good.

I shoot a bretta 3.5 and I love it, i wore my first one out and now own two. I always heard own two guns, but people who shoot breaknellis own 3 of them because two are always broke. I shoot a 12ga. at duck and late season I bring out the 10ga. I love them, people try to tell me that there is no difference between a 3.5 12ga and a 10ga. I beg to differ. You can tell it on geese. I have blown geese up with that gun, and have killed them far off. We guide all over and thats all my buddies and I shoot.

i shoot a beretta AL 391 A. it is pretty nice i like that i can shoot big shells with no kick at all. the only bad thing is that it is really loud. pretty tough to snipe stuff off as they come off the water with other birds in the air and hope to have another shot at those. but all in all it is a very verssatille gun i use it for everything that i hunt, pheasant, duck, goose, dove, quail, and even a deer with a slug last year.

Quest

Depends what i'm hunting

I hunt pheasants a lot because they are always around and I don't have to wait from them to migrate and come to me. For shooting those their is not better gun than the Browning Citori, if you can find a way to jam an over/under I would like to hear about it. I shoot both 20 gauge and 410 Citori's.

When hunting duck I still like to shoot my Citori especially early in the year at teal and woodies but after that, when the geese and mallards start coming down I shoot my 12 gauge Benelli Super Black Eagle (Never had a problem with it).

DON'T KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HEARD ABOUT THIS BUT BROWNING IS COMING OUT WITH A NEW SEMI AUTOMATIC. I GUESS IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE SOMETHING PRETTY SPECIAL. THEY ARE INTRODUCING IT SPRING OF '06!!

i shoot a browning gold 3" or the BPS shadow grass 3" with the patternmaster in the one im shooting (since it will fit in both)......and I've heard a rumor about the new Auto from browning....nothing big but I've heard of them possibly coming out with a new one....good luck getting it under a grand tho since about every new auto retails a grand or over usually....unless you get lucky....

Whatever you do...DON'T BUY A STOGER...everyone i've seen has fell apart!!!!! I shoot an old beretta 390 and that gun has held up wonderfully! Shoot mod. choke w/ supreme dueces or kent dueces and it's lethal. A poor man's benelli is always a winning choice!

SBE II for me and I can honestly say the preformance was worth the price!! I had one small problem but it was my fault wet waders and 14 degree day froze my trigger up. A little de-icer and it was game on. Too bad it happened when I had a sweet drake redhead right over the decoys and I love to shoot divers. One other thing I surprised to find out I can get an aftermarket choke tube for no one seems to make one for the SBE II.

I started out on a Rem 1187 special purpose with synthetic staock and forearm .....i had to put that on after my dad ran it over with the truck and cracked the wood one lol and now i have a Benneli m2 and wouldn't shoot another gun. Its top nothc you guys need to get one or a barreta. Mine is the max4 with the comfort teck on it so its high dollar, i still shoot my Remington though it still puts them belly up

I've shot a lot over the year's and there are a lot of great firearm's out there, but for the money, :D it is pretty hard to beat the old standby Remington 1100 12 ga. 3" mag. for in your face and long range shooting.

Bennelli M2

12-29-2005, 04:41 AM
Max 4 Benelli Nova, with a ported barrel, but I like to shoot a heavier gun and the Nova is pretty light out of the box - so I bought a magazine extension kit and removed the spring and put some lead in it - man does it swing nice now!!! Also got a patternmaster choke in it - the only choke necessary when it comes to kill'n.
