Choice between HP or MH

Looking to get one of these this year leaning more towards the HP. What do you guys think of each one as far as being versatile?

either one is a good call, the MH takes more hand movement to really get sounding good on it though

Keep leaning brother!!! The HPH is my go to call everyday, day in and day out. I also use it for comps! Very fast, responsive, great low end murmurs and moans as well as a very sharp high end crack! Great call for sure!

And as was stated...the MH is a great call as well but does take a bit more hand placement (back pressure) to really master.

Either call will do ya right....it comes down to what YOU are comfortable with my man. Get one of each in your hands and fiddle with them...see which one feels better, but always remember the calls can be tuned to fit you. Don't base whether you are going to buy that call or not on the way it is tuned...that can be changed. The shape and feel of the call cannot!

Personally, I would choose the MH over the HPH. The MH for me is a very versatile call, I can get the raspy clucks of a smaller goose and really good low end as well. I have a Hedge HPH I really like to, but if I had to choose only one of them, I would lean towards the MH.

I really don't think it blows all that much different that any of the other calls, it comes down to personal preference, I you can, get some place and blow them both to see which fits you best, you really will not go wrong with either one.

HPH has got my vote, Can be loud and soft. It can do some sweet a$$ clucks and moans. It is also fast . I personally like calls that are a little faster. Very easy to blow. Just my preference anyways. I would buy a HPH over a MH hands down. :D


It all comes down to your personal preferance on the way or style you like to blow your goose calls. :D :D

i have both calls and i cant decide which one i like better. they are both great calls. i do however like them both better than my smh.

I have got to agree with Mark on this one. The HPH is the way to go. great low end murmurs and moans!!!!!!! Very true. Check out you Foiles dealer to see which call feels better. Good Luck!

I have the SMH, HPH, and the MH. I like them all, but the HPH is my go to all year call. It can do it all and it is fast and easy to use, but I had to spend some time with the tune to get it just the way I wanted it. I have it tuned to kind of a middle goose. My MH is tuned a bit higher and I use it for later season when the migrators come. Early I use my Pro Mag. and HPH. Later the HPH and MH. I find my self grabing the HPH 80% of the time.
