Todays Hunt

Todays hunt was very interesting, I went to a field that I had seen some geese in for a few days , and just as I pulled up to the field I saw head lights in the middle of the field . I thought my day was over two guys were out there putting out their spread. My dad pulled in the parking lot and so I followed him we got out and ask if they minded if we could join them. They said they didn't mind . So we put out our spread next to theirs and killed a few geese They really liked the way all my Foiles calls sounded and just my have converted them to the Strait Meat way . The one guy had a Strait Meat honker and couldn't get the tone he was looking for I took a look at his call and it was tuned really high so I told him how to tune it a little deeper. He said he was going home and give it a shot must not have wanted me to do it for him , I as told him about the forum and he said he was going to check it out . Man I wish all waterfowl hunters were as nice as this two fellas were . I told them if they ever saw my truck and wanted to come out and hunt go right a head . Man what a day.

It's always refreshing when you get a chance to make some new fiends hunting, and to find some guys that are willing to share a field. Glad to hear you had a good time, and it is always cool to convert someone over to the Strait meat way. I once converted a guy over to a SMH at the Primos forum, LOL

well sometimes you get some crazy hunter. me and my buddies were getting ready to launch our boat early goose season, and there were two trucks blocking the ramp. so we asked if they would lauch so everyone else could to. Then one guy jumps over in my buddies face and started yelling "we will lauch when we damn well please." then they started saying how they owned the lake we were hunting (which was public by the way), and how they pick fights for a living. these guys were strait crazy, and what a bunch of asses they were.

you must have been hunting at Carlyle or Rend in Illinois. Unfortunately over the years I have ran into more Jerks than good people too.

Yep, I was with Kingkilla when this happened. There were 8 guys with two boats and Go-Devils. They put out over 100 GHG full bodies!! Heck, there werent even 100 geese using that lake! That looks real natural. LOL. Anyway, our group killed 4 outta one flock and all they killed was a single that came into them. So it was really worth getting crazy for. Plus all I have on my boat is an old 18 hp. Evinrude. It wasnt like I was gonna beat them to their spot.

Lol is it just me or when i mention i blow foiles calls to people automatically think rich a-hole. people dont understand he has non expensive calls as well. :lol: I still plan on buyin the expensive ones too though haha. Im workin on a couple conversions right now :D

i got my smh yet i also have a knight and hale double clucker that i started on when i was young and i still use it.
for my duck calls i got my smm, and then i have my hunters specialties call that i got at wal-mart when i started as well.
