Ducks - 36
About a month into the 2005-06 season, 6 guys - 36 ducks. We shot everything we seen - shovelers, scaup, tree ducks, gadwall, mottled ducks, teal, etc. It was an awesome day with ton of ducks!
Geese - 118 (Snows)
Lets just say we resorted to alternate methods. Crawl, crawl, crawl. 8 guys, 118 geese. It was an all day affair.

i could be wrong here but, i would more than likely believe it but in ohio this year for opening day. A bunch of guys i hunted in VA with said that total on this 1 lake they shot 400+ teal  . Not just these 2 guys but they said everyone on the lakes total for the day. I could be wrong about just teal but i am positive they said that.

Opening day of duck season in PA a couple years ago....31 ducks in about an hour and 15 minutes (6 guys)...mix of mallards, woodies, teal, and blacks
Opening day of early goose season in PA last year (2006)...5 guys, 39 birds. Would had our limit (40) had the warden not been standing in the spread for 20+ minutes while we had birds trying to get in!!! Overall we had the best early season my group has ever had (4 or 5 guys...11 hunts)...171 birds in the bag!!!

Feb.21 2007 in the extended up here in Ont. we shot a 7 man limit,56 Canada's.With the number of birds we could of probably doubled that number easily. The amount of ducks around was amazing and they would come right in and land and then lift off, circle around and then right back in,of course we coouldn't shoot them.Going out Tues. evening and hopfully 24 more will be coming home with us.Good luck in the field,Doug.

Ducks-42 in a little over an hour. Opener of early season '05. We were hunting 7 guys and we were back at the boat ramp with our limit by 8 if I'm not mistaken.
Geese- 49 snows. These were all decoyed and killed. I think there were about 6 or 7 guys, with people coming and going all day long. My dad and I were there all day.
Honkers- 16. It's hard to put big numbers of honkers up, since our limit is 2 a piece. 2 days after x-mas of '05, we hunted 8 guys and got our limit.

well lets see... i've got a few slaughters but the one that sticks out in my head was 3 weeks before goose season was over... 6 guys shot limit of canadians and 7 snows... 31 birds all together.
The other one that sticks out in my mind is the 2nd to last week of the season... jeff foiles had hunted with Bob Goodrow the day before and only shot 4 birds... the next day jeff had to leave... and Bob came with me and 6 other guys and shot 21 canadians 7 neck bands and one leg band 8 all together it was unbelievable.... the ****ty thing was that jeff had to leave otherwise he would have hunted with us... that would have made it all that much better.

Ducks - 48 greenheads
Honkers - 23
Snows - 9
Killed all of these outta a pit in the Pleasant Hill bottoms a couple years ago during a snow/ice storm. The birds were all iced up and coudln't wait to get down. 12 of us shot out on mallards and couldn't kill an odd duck to save our lives. Unbelieveable as it may sound....the ducks were so iced up they couldn't fly. My buddy's dog accually caught one that had not been shot at.

the one that sticks in my mind the most would have been a while back i was probly 12 or 13 might have been a lil older even. but we were hunting a local lake that state owns and we were hunting in this cove and the ducks were feeding right be hind us and they were coming over out backs and just dumping in the cove. between 4 of us we shoot 15 mallards, 2 Gadwalls, and a wiegion. and the guy right across the lake from us never fired a shot. but my fav hunt would have been a 6 Bluebill, 3 Ringneck, 2 Mallards, a gadwall, and a goose that i missed school for and went hunting. i shot one of the bluebills and he was going sooo fast that when he hit the water he skiped 3 times

Opening day of our early season here in WI. 64 honks in one day. I'll never forget that day. We also had ducks puring down on us by the hundreds for about 30 minutes right away in the morning. Too bad season was not open on the little devils.
My best hunt was in 2005, we shot a 4 man limit of 6 ducks a piece...2 days in a row in Michigan in the morning and topped the evenings off by shooting a 4 man limit of geese.....
We have had a lot of REALLY good cast and blasts as well up in Michigan, a 2 man limit of ducks in the morning and several 10 lb ++ steelhead on a flyrod in the evening, those were pretty memorable times skipping class in college

Two years ago, early season pa. 3 man limit, 24 birds. Every bird that was decoyed, died. Including my first band.
Another great hunt I had was in the same field Mark Spence killed his 39 birds, we only killed 8, but 7 were banded, so I guess that was the best band hunt, I've ever had.

Mid Jan this year. We had an unusuall hard freeze here in Cali. So if you had open water, you had ducks.
4 guys, 28 ducks, 4 geese, 2 hours! All were Mallards, pintail, & gadwall. The Geese were alll snows. Spec's close early here & we dont get Honker's in my area.... it kills me to hear about all those Honkers. I have'nt killed a goose over 6 lbs in years & that was a big spec.

somtimes you get lucky. we didn't kill squat early, maybe 25 on their way out to feed, killed almost all of them on the way back to water. that hunt is where the PETA picture came from. it got out on the internet and everyone claimed it was them, but honestly it happened in TX. it wasn't hard to spell peta with 115 birds, big letters too!!!! the next day 20 something of us went out and killed 78, so it was a pretty eventfull couple of days, not to mention alot of bird cleaning. both of those pics are on the website, think it was 2004-2005 season, had a few beers since then.

It was the first morning of the MN early goose season, and I was in Lake of the Woods with friends. We had 21 birds by 9am and there were still birds coming in. It got me hooked on waterfowl.
P.S. When the first flock came in, I was so awestruck I wasn't even able to get my shotgun up to shoot.

Up until last year you could only hunt 6 guys for field hunts...and we pretty much keep to that number this year since it was lifted....that really leaves you to stacking up 40 in Sept. which we did a couple times.....I have to say though the opener last year with only 3 guys was really the best shooting....we smoked 24 in a heart beat and could have killed a hundred.....every gang finished dead in the middle of the hole at 10 feet....we destroyed em clean, close and fast.

My fastest hunt with #'s was in North Dakota when we killed 18 canadas,24 mallards, and 2 pintails.
My favirote hunt was the 2nd day of early goose when five of us shot our limit, what was great about this one was we needed 7 more to finish and a nice flock came in and knocked down 7 which were all banded.

The biggest slaughter time was 2001, There's a organization call ducks unlimited they had least this peice of property for years. My buddy bought the land, he told them to get out, what a pond this is. The first morning we went we all took 3-4 boxes each it's wasn't enough. That night it was amazing there was 15 hunters in the pond,we all didn't want to stop shooting. When we came out to our trucks there was cops & mnr waiting for us. They couldn't believe what they were seeing with their eyes. The cops got a phone call from a nieghbor saying there was anormo shoting going on in the woods. We took 3 cases in to the pond, the cops check us for amunition all we had was 29 shots left in our pockets. This pond is amazing for the night hunt,My buddy receives phone calls all the time for permission to hunt this pond. We would love to have jeff & his team come down to experiance this amazing duck pond.

I don't get it ? So you shot alot of ducks with one shot ? This story is a little weird ? You kicked Duck unlimited out of a leased property ? So you bought a property from ducks unlimited ? Did you guys end up getting charged ? Also, I'm in the same area 65 as you are.. How did you guys end up shooting 22 antlered animals legally ? And do you know your possesion limits for geese ? At that crazy numbered amount you told us about ?

Aother slaughter that sticks to my mind. My son and I had been out hunting most of a morning, one of those nasty windy snowy days we get here in Idaho. The geese didn't fly, and those few that did didn't get far from the refuge. We were taking my brother home and spotted some geese feeding in a field. Told my son that on the way back they would move to the edge of the field in a valley so they would be out of the wind. Sure enough on the way back from my brothers place they had done just that. Made sneaking up on them real easy. We made our way to the edge of the little valley and jump shot the geese. My son went 3 shots for 3 geese. Knocking down his limit. I was shootin my nova, first two shots were 3 inch cheap laods. Dropped 2 geese. 3rd shot was a 3 1/2 inch Fast steel 1 9/16ths of BBB. When that shell went off I cut a hole in the flock, dropped 3 geese with one shot. So Ifired 3 shots and had 6 birds down! My son yelled holy ****! ! ! dad what are we gonna do, I said grab geese and run for the bronco. LOL oour limit was 3 birds each. So I was a little over on my limit!

Just thought I should put mine. Last new years eve. I went to the bears/ green bay game left at half time went to a bar, drank for free for four hours. The next mourning I had the biggest hangover didnt leave the hotel till about 1:00pm. I called the club they had six guys and only shot one goose. So I had the wife drop me off in the field on the way home. I got in the blind and loaded my gun. Didnt even get my jacket on and called in a flock of like 30 birds. They bounced back and fourth 3 times from our blind to another before we had our limit. 13 geese in 5 minutes. My wife wasnt out of the field when I called for her to pick me up. That was a perfect day couldnt of asked for more.

First day of season in KY (thanksgiving). Me and 11 other guys all college age went into a slough and killed 72 ducks in about hour and a half. Most were mallards and gadwalls with the occasional widgeon, woodduck, teal, and spoonie mixed in. No blind, no boat, all were just standing by cypress trees and smokin' ducks at 10-20 yards. One hunt I'll never forget and I'm sure anybody that was there will never forget it either.

Awesome pics guys!!!
Acemallard, that is what I'm talking about right there. 8) Honkers and greenheads in a cornfield.....that right there is what I live for. That goose to the left of the specklebelly looks HUGE....did you weigh it at all?
Dukbusters, when you say they were "3 yard shots" do you mean you shot all 40 geese at exactly 3 yards?
