Does this require more air than the regular smh insert? Or is it the same just louder. I am thinking about getting one but I love the regular smh insert. Also, how much louder is it?

Thanks

Josh

from what i can tell people say the comp inserts take more air to run...
i have a showtime and find that it takes about the same amount of air to operate... now thats just me.

As a general rule it will take slightly more air due to it having a larger bore exhause opening, but it can be tuned to blow very easily. I personally use one of the older short comp inserts (the original comp insert) in my SMH and really love the extra volume it allows me. I don't have one of the longer comp inserts like they have now, but have blown some and like the volume they give as well. They also let you get a little different tone, or I should say more versatility in tone than the regular SMH insert. To me they don't a significantly larger amount of air, or at least enough to cause a problem in a hunting set up.

You know i heard this more air thing, and im the optimist, both of my Showtimes take way way less air than my SMH, and when i switch the inserts from my showtime to me SMH, to me they arent any harder to blow, now whether this is in the tuning or what, i dont know, but i have my SMH tuned as light as it will possibly go, and its still a heck of a lot harder to blow than both my showtimes....just my $.02, to me its all in the tuning.....
