Call it what you want... hillbilly, oldschool, slob, it don't matter to me. We set out this mornin' with 48 trash bags tied to stakes, two dozen honker sillouettes painted white, and one dozen honker windsocks turned inside out with tube socks on the heads. After a great sunrise, the birds started moving and some swans worked the rig real well. We let a single snow make one too many passes, and it left without a shot being fired. Later on in the morning another single made his final pass and met with a single pellet of Hevi- shot from old man HARDCORE's 870. We both have never done the whole snowgoose thing and to have one on the ground made a great way to start the weekend. Here's the pics.

I see a Tundra Saver in my future. It's always nice to hunt with friends like HARDCORE and his son. Start buyin' snow decoys my friends, next season is right around the corner. The SMH tuned ultra high is a killer swan call..... HA HA HA

I don't care what anybody calls it. I call it a success! One less of those white devils is a good thing!

That ain't slob- taht's making do with what you can scrape together and it shows innovation and a desire to do it right. Anyone can ditchpig - not aeveryone can have the patience to decoy 'em!! Nice job!

I like to say it is always a pleasure hunting with you goosegetter. Just wondering how come no mention of my hillbilly lay out blind? If you would have called the shot on the first bird we might have had that one to. Whats with this old man HARDCORE you know I resemble that! By the way.....Whats your favorite gun? Mine would be an 20 year old 870. ha ha I know what you mean about next year being right around the corner I am counting the days. As for the decoys I already have 3 dozen silly's, 2 dozen shells that I have plans on painting white. Instead of tuning a SMH real high you should have just bought the $7.00 snow goose call from Vonnie's. ha ha I ready to do it again!!! See ya.

Thats AWESOME right there, you couldnt ask for anything more, i guess im going to have to dig up the budget snow goose rig again and post some pics....we had some swans working us to on saturday, after the first small group passed i had a good idea on how they sounded and tuned my MH to sound exactly like them, started calling them and they circled a couple times, had three more small groups of 5 or so do the same thing, totally awesome, first time i had ever seen swans swooping a rig like that, but the guide said they were probably looking for water and kept going, i wish they would have still been in there today i would be packin my bag and heading to your house right about now lol........also they arent that expencive but i seen them work, thos jackkites that they sell at cabelas, the guide i went with had like 5 of them he said they are killer.......and i dont think they cost that much, apparently they fly like a kite when the wind blows and then when it dies the sit down on their tails till it picks back up and flys again all by theirselves....might be something to look into.....

I waited a week too long to ask permission. While we were hunting saturday every snow in the world seemed to be flying north. Went scouting sunday and only found ONE snow int the whole area. What's up with this saturday? Got room?
