if you like your 28" barrel now then you should stay with that , your swing should stay the same that way, most guns swing the same depending on forward weight but thats usualy only a few ounces. hope this helps!

I have a Beretta A391 Extreama with a 28" barrell and I love it. However I have only used it on waterfowl and once on upland(besides trap). It slaughtered a couple pheasants and quail. I know it claimed the lives of many ducks and geese this season! I find no problems with the 28" barrell but it is a change from the 30" trap barrell I was shooting on my Rem 1100LH Trap Model, which powderes clay and slays deer!

I would agree that you should stick with what feels comfortable for you. I have owned a BPS with a 28" barrel and now have a SBE 2 with a 26" barrel. The 26" is easier to get in and out of the duck boat blind with and I didnt have any problem with switching barrel length.

26" is quickly becoming the "flagship" barrel length for both waterfowl and upland, but I respect what the other guys are saying about being comfortable with your swing. The 26" barrel will definitely give you a little more manueverability in tight areas (smaller water blinds & goose layout blinds).

I made the switch myself from 28" to 26" and, after several swing repetitions, couldn't tell the difference; consequently, I'm glad I made the switch. I have a Beretta Extrema 2.

I picked up an SBE II (26" barrel) at the gun store and gave it a few swings. That gun shoulders nice and feels great. It's undoubtedly the lightest and sleekest semi-auto on the market. That's quite a "love affair" you have going there. After enough swing reps with the 26" barrel I think you'll be glad you made the choice.

I use 26" barrels on my Benelli's and Browning, and love them, I used to use the 28" barrel, but prefer the shorter barrel, swing is good and much more maneuverable (sp?). I used to use a 24" barrel on my turkey gun to hunt geese, but really prefer my 26" barrel over it. I would re-enforce that you do like the others recommend, and try both and see wich is more comfortable to you.
