I am looking at getting a pattern master for my browning gold hunter. I will mostly be shooting 3" with the occasional 3.5" just cause they are fun to shoot. Now my question is should I go with the extended which is made to accomdate 3.5", or should I go with the standard tube?

standard should be just fine, it will still shoot 3 1/2's also.

You probably have been shooting for a while but even for an experience shooter the extend takes some getting use to. Standard it great!

the reason I dont shoot 3.5's that much is cause of the shot string. Would the pattern master eleminate that?

no the pattern master keeps the shot string intact.

Depending on range, decoying, pass shooting etc...............I love my extended range.

According to Patternmaster the tube eliminates the long shot string. Therefore the string is still intact but not as long as if you were using constricting chokes.
