if your going to buy a mudd buddy or beavertail buy a long shaft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! one of my buddy's is a local dealer for mudd buddy hyper drives what a peace of sh*t !!!!! my self have a 16' boat with a 31hp beavertail long shaft and my other buddy has my old boat with a 27 hp beavertail long shaft , we felt like a towing service last season cause they were always getting stuck and calling us to come and get them!!! they could'nt even go where we went!! i guess we had the 4 wheel drive and there's was 2 wheel drive!! trust me on this one!! if you want a surface drive make sure its a long shaft or you might a well stay with an outboard.
