View Full Version : Why was the thread locked?

Kelly,

Why would you direct a number of questions to me then lock the thread? Ok, maybe juvenile is wrong...amateur is more like it. Then again, you have the- its my ball & I'm taking it home-syndrome....definitely juvenile.

Obviously you and I don't get along, so feel free to ban me or attempt to hack my computer (I am only @ one site so it should be easy) alternatively lets see if we can have a discussion. I will try to rephrase my question(s)- what should be the obligations of a prostaffer to a callmaker? Once a contract is up should these obligations continue? Should prostaffer's be paid commission on sales?

BTW, Max- I have a couple calls for sale.

IF you can't get along with everyone I think it would be best for all both prostaff and other users of the forum if you just left. We are here to talk about hunting and talk to people who have the same interest as us. All that you are doing is making this forum HOSTILE. The administrators are here to answer questions, keep the site clean, and KEEP THE PEACE!
It has never been a problem finding out what is going on in the Foiles Migrators company and if it is that important it will be released when it needs to be released.
In closing if you were a TRUE Foiles person you wouldn't be picking battles with Foiles prostaff. Take your info for what it is Gossip(for now). We will know when we need to know.

What in the world are you talking about? My question is a general one and certainly not restricted to Foiles prostaff, and can be extended well past call-based prostaffers.

Avery, Final Approach, anyone. I'd just like to see a discussion of what are typical obligations, contracts, how they differ per company, what are the pros/cons of various programs.

This is an Ask the Pro-staff forum?! Not church, lets see some sort of discussion.

OK...lets air it out then.

I wouldnt want to hack your computer, your logging in from UNMC most of the time, if I wanted to raise hell with you I would just contact their webmaster and ask them to lock this site from access via their server.

Pro-Staff obligations vary from company to company. Either way you sign a contract and know what your getting into. If you dont feel that it is reasonable or that you are not getting a fair deal then it's very easy to not sign. I turned down a lucrative Pro-Staff opportunity this year because I would have to drop a sponsor that I have been involved with for many years. Not a lucrative sponsor but my loyalty is important.

Now if you want to play the name calling game or continue to berate me on the forum I will ban you...and I wont feel bad about it. I would do the same to anyone that was treating any member of this forum with disrespect. You continue to call me juvenile and then in turn tell me I have this syndrome or that syndrome. When have I stooped to calling you names or tried to make fun of you? If you want to have an adult discussion then act like one.

That right there, IS EXACTLY the type of info that interests me and the meat & potatoes of my thread! Partly for my own, lets say, future interests & partially because it is more interesting than asking you how I should set up my GHG's. That gets old & after 25 yrs of waterfowling I know the latter.

BTW, I know of several ex-Foiles & am not on a cruisade for anyone else.

How long are most contracts? Does anyone in the waterfowl industry offer commission? How about profit sharing?

Think I'll go register now.

Guest,

First of all, if I remember correctly in my Pro-Staff contract with Jeff, all information regarding it are confidential, so if you are trying to fish up any information about that, I don't beleive you will get far. And if I had to guess, any other company that has Pro-Staffers sign a contract, you would find the same.

Second, Kelly hit it right with one word, LOYALTY. When my brother and I came aboard, that was one big thing Jeff asked of us, to be loyal. And I got no problem with that, I have no problem being loyal to an organization and a group of guys that have not wronged me or my brother. Where I come from that does not have to be said, just understood, and from what I have read, I see you are one that needs to be told. When Jeff first said that to us, I was kind of taken back with the deal, not sure what to think, but after being around this scene the last year or so, I can now see why that is a big one for him.

When he takes on a Pro-Staffer, he is investing in them, and a good Pro-Staffer would try is darndest to make that investment pay off of himself and to Jeff. But there again, that is just me. There are a lot of guys out there just looking for a hand out/commision(I think you said). And those guys are where the bad blood comes from in this industry.

My advice to you is to let it go, what is done is done, and as far as I can tell, you have nothing to with this entire deal anyway. Just a spectator with too much time on his hands.

I am hoping that "Guest" Paul's last post was an attempt at a truce. I don't understand how internal squabbles between Foiles and his prostaff, affect me and the products I buy or the forum I participate on. This whole discussion has gone to far, and to just drop it at this point would be the"Adult" thing to do.

Good luck to both of you in your endeavers, and thanks Kelly for running this forum for the rest of us.

Jeff

Oh, almost forgot, Paul thanks for the offer on the calls, but I think I will just buy new from Foiles, gives me the excuse to run over to Pittsfield now and then and check out the shop.
