I have read that ducks see in Ultra-Violet light. Is this true or is it just a bunch of bs?

On the little pamphlet you get with GHG decoys it states not to wash your decoys with soap because of that. But that's the only place I've heard that before.

It is true that birds see UV light. That is accepted.
The real question is how they see it, how they react to it, and why they react to it in certain situations and not others. Rather it be reflected, absorbed, etc. Do they use it to determine mates, food source, danger? Maybe? who knows?.
