Well i am mainly a zink call fan. Alot of my buddies that blow Foiles keep telling me i have to buy some, and they are the best calls you can buy. Well, i have only tried a few Foiles goose call but couldn't exactly get on them like i can on my zinks. But, i have never tried a Foiles Duck and i am somewhat interested but don't know if i am ready to pay that much for something i haven't ever tried. My question is...what can Foiles Calls do that my Powerhen and XR-2 can't. I really like both of them duck calls, but i am looking for another duck call, so i'm here. Can you guys help me out?

I personally like the sound of a timber rattler better than any other duck call. There easy to blow and they sound like a true duck.

Tell you what brother...on the main page..there are soundfiles that you can listen to and make up your own mind on the duck calls. Now mind you that this is one guy blowin the calls, but still it gives you the idea of the range that all of the foiles calls are capable of. Hope to get you hooked up brother. If you have a specific question on any call...don't hesitate to ask. Hope this helps

Paralyzer, two of my buddies have double reed timber rattlers and they sound awesome. Probably the duckiest call I've ever heard. I already have a SMM and love it but am gonna buy a TR before season next year. My SMM is great too. I can high ball on it or give 'em real soft quacks and chuckles. I've had it for about years and its always with me when Im after ducks. But hey, you gotta try out a SMH. Best goose call ever made if you ask me.

Why don't we ask (Big Shawn) what his thoughts are on the two different goose calls. He is a person that now comes from both sides of the fence. Pro's and Con's on both maybe. Just a suggestion.

I have friend that is the same as you and loves his Zink calls, and fred does make a great call. However all season long he kept asking what call I was using. We hunt close enough to each other that on a calm day we cant faintly hear each others calling. However when the birds come up river we both can usually see which way they go, whether it be to him or me. I guess after watching greenheads spin to left of him all season (right into my spread followed by a wall of shot) it got to best of him and I told I had been using a single reed timber rattler all year long.

Well he was at Harrisburg show, we talked a little bit and I asked him if he was going to get a foiles call he told me that he wasnt. A little later I saw him having BIG SEAN tune him one up and buying it. He still hasnt admitted to it yet but I know I will have to be on my toes a little quicker next season.

Well luckily i stopped by one of my buddies house's tonight and he let me try his brand new TR and SMM. I definately couldn't do much at all on the SMM but the TR was working alittle better. I still don't think i will buy one though, the XR-2 is still my #1 duck call, maybe this new Foiles call will be more to my liking.

I really don't think you can get a better duck call then the timber rattler. It's easy to use and has a great sound.

I wish you luck with your call selection, I know if you give the TR and SMM a shot, more than just a few toots on your buddies, you would relize the difference. You just cant beat a Foiles call in the Blind. And I am sure you will see in the coming months and years that the Foiles Name will be at the top of all the contests as well.

Good Luck.
