Just wondering if the word Strait is going to added to Dead Meat. I like the name "Strait Dead Meat".

Shoot I was 3 letters off, I had "duck meat".I like the name "Dead Meat',as long as theres a smoke color its mine.

Both names are good, but the strait dead meat is the way to go. It is a Foiles call, you have to have the strait in it.

I guess I would favor the dead meat since Strait Drake doesn't make too much sense; unless he is making a drake whistle or something. Then again Dead Meat is kind of an oxy-moron since most meat would be assumed dead. If it wasn't it would be flesh right? The bottom line is; I am just mad that he didn't pick mine.

that's the job of a duck call..yeah..but regardless.. It's just a name and I just liked the sound of that name a little better. I mean if you called it the widow maker or whatever it's not actually gonna kill your spouse :) That name just caught me as simple but yet fitting.

I would have to agree with the Warden on this one. I think the name does mean something. it kind of lays the foundation as to what you should expect out of the call. The timber rattler; for example is a softer call. Something I would use in the timber. The migrator is something a little louder for calling at migrating ducks. I hear the name strait drake and I think it's a drake call like the duck commander made.

I see your point...but what about the market hunter...the legend...the meatcutter....These aren't exactly the most descriptive when it comes to the kind of calls they are. It's just a name fellas...that's it..but either way, we're getting a new call and that's something we should all be thankful for :D

Yeah; ya got me there. The bottom line is the call is made to attract ducks and the name is given to sell calls. I am sure that it will be a good call no matter what it is called and a whole bunch of people will buy it. With a 75% mark up on a product; I just think it should have a good name.

The one thing I am not sure of is why I should be thankful for it. Is Jeff giving one to everyone who hunts? I would be thankful for that. I think he should be thankfull that people are willing to pay that kind of money for a duck call. I know a lot of guys who can't call at all and spend all sorts of money to try and remedy that with the latest and greatest calls on the market. Calling is definitely not the most important factor to killing more birds.

Again I see where you're coming from..but I choose to look at it a little differently. I choose to look at it this way... We should be thankful as waterfowlers that there are people like Jeff putting out these high end high quality tricks of the trade. As a waterfowler, I like having every angle I can covered...and if on a certain day birds are liking a certain call more, I wanna know that I have it in my bag. I know duck hunting is a lot of where you are at what time, but as we all know...those skiddish hard hunted birds need a little extra sweet stuff to get em in your face. And yes i'm sure jeff is thankful for our buisness, but I feel that it's a win win for both sides. Just my 2 cents :)

I guess you personally don't have to be thankful for a new call hitting the market from Foiles, I know I am, I love getting something different to blow and use in the field.

And I am quite sure Jeff is very thankful for ALL his supporters and ALL the customers he has that buy his products. Bottom line, we would not be even talking about this if it weren't for all those waterfowl nuts like myself and yourself who have bought SM products over the years.

Customers are the reason we as Pro-Staffers are here and are able to represent Foiles Migrators, and heck, I am thankful for all the consumers as well, this is a great deal to be a part of.

I like the strait drake as well but it looks like dead meat is in the lead but id like to see mallard added. i think dead meat mallard has a nice ring. Haha maybe jeff should have shown us a pic of what the call looked like to really get the juices goin :D

I mainly chose it b/c I am an avid bow hunter and like to look at nice racks whenever possible. The girl in the picture just happened to be holding them when I found it. That is a quality TC she has to add to the overall experience.
