Thanks for the kind words Flatts !!!!!
Justin you just go for broke and let the chips fall were they may. I have had my fair share off @$$ whippings but I took expierence away from every comp I have ever been in and pushes you to levels you didnt think you could ever reach. At the end of the day remember judges and birds are different and the ones with dropped feet and cupped wings are the ones that count the most ..... As for the stage just hit pedal on the right and steer !!!!!
Cant wait for the next after comp adventure in Pittsfield next month....

no worries njhonker!
There are quite a few contests coming up over the summer in the east so hopefully Foiles callers will factor in some of them....I know there is Delmarva Invitational 5/5, Lancaster DU in July, there is one in Mercer PA in June I think and Bass Pro MD in early summer as well!
These are good contests to get out there and get involved and get that first contest under your belt!

I need to find somewhere to practice and i think i would be more confident, most of my practice is done in the car, not saying thats a bad place, but when you constantly have to stop at red lights stop signs, and shift gears, its kinda hard to run a decent routine, also im not well aquainted with a duck call yet to even begin to imagine to get up on stage with one of them, but my goose calling is getting better, and with a little help and this new Coco Comp SMH, i might just have a shot, and well theres always one of the two showtimes i own lol, but i figure theres at least one of these contests over the summer where i will find myself behind the scenes nervous as hell with the rest of you guys, the more i call the more confident i get, i guess i just need to find me a good field or something and spend a few weeks each afternoon there practicing, see i live in a townhouse complex, which basically means, that 6 of my neibors are perminantly attached to my house, and there are probably 12 or so complexes on my street, so needless to say if i go out in the backyard to practice, im not only annoying my neighbors, but the entire neighborhood, so the back yard is out, and i do spend a lot of time on here when the forum is dead and no one is hoe, i spend a lot of time recording myself on the computer, and playing it back, to see the areas that i have to work on, i also do the same thing with my video cam, but i think the sound quality on the computer is better, unless i hook the cam up to the TV, and play it through the surround sound.....
but i will grow the balls one of these days, Jayson has helped me out a couple times with calling, but if anyone one else wants to play Teacher, ill be a willing student... :)

video the whole 90 seconds and get it down to a flowing routine.....so you don't lose you spot under pressure....you can also judge how you sound compared to others....

Flow....Whats that lol....i have no blend whatsoever, and thats my main issue right now, ive heard hundreds of routines, spent countless hours on CDC listening to all the soundfiles, and routines on there, and im still amazed at how they do it, i guess i just need to actually sit down and listen and try to recreate the sounds, and figure out what works with what, it takes time, this i know, and ive really only been blowing a call for a little over a year and a half now, and for that short of time, i think im pretty decent, but as far as my " rollercoaster " pretty much has one speed, lol, and not a lot of variation, but i will get crackin here soon, and get something layed out, see if i can find my stop watch and time myself...ill prolly pass out the first couple times, but i think i can get conditioned enough to get up there in the next couple months, and like i said before anyone that wants to help that move along a little smoother, IM ALL EARS lol :D

Justin keep comingto the calling and grillings they are great place to learn and monitoryour developement against your peers in a non-competive environment. All the guys there are very friendly heck we even leave the Jersey guys so up (LOL FLATTS) BTW those Lanyards are really nice get out there and pimp them big at the next one!!!!!

Thanx Jayson...i will definitly be at as many of them as i can get too, and like you said, that was a small turnout....but yeah, i will be practicing for the next one, and see if i have improved.....i can run a really nice Spit Note on that Cocobola call. something i cant do very well because of how light my meat calls are tuned, but that Chartruse ST i showed you, that thing is tuned pretty similar to the cocobola one, so i will be working on both of them, cause i love that SMH, but i want to blow my showtime in contests.....but pretty much which ever one i sound better on, and can control better, is the one i will go with.....
