I have not shot both, but I have shot one without the kickoff and it didn't seem to kick bad at all. I have heard that the kickoff is the real deal, though. How much more is an xtrema with the kickoff as opposed to one without kickoff?

The KO is about a $250 option. I don't have it on mine, and didn't want it for three reasons:

1) I don't feel it makes that much of a difference during the excitement of shooting real birds.

2) It adds an automatic 1" to the draw length.

3) $250!!! That's another call and some full bodies.

I own both, there is not much difference with the KO. You did however get a Tru-Glo front sight with the KO's when they first came out, but Beretta stopped that in later production( not that it is worth the 250.00 extra). It's not really worth the extra money. Who feels recoil when you're shooting in to a flock of birds anyhow?

i have a extrema 2 with ko and it works awesome..... it was only a 100 $ option for me so it was money well spent.

go to a gun dealer and try them both. shoulder them and see which is more comfortable. that extra inch of pad may make u feel uncomfortable.
