That sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I would think the motor alone would be worth that if it's in good shape. I just got a 2006 Mercury 40hp and we paid about 5k for it. The only thing I would be weary of is buying a duck boat used. The reason why I just got a new motor is b/c we bought a used rig and the motor on it turned out to a total piece of junk. I would ask a lot of questions.

Sounds like a good deal. I don't know much about the xpress boat, but what does alomost new mean for the motor. I didn't think you could still pick up brand new/ newer mariners. dux 99 is right sounds like a good deal. L know I won a brand new mercury 9.9 hp four stroke and sticker price was around $2100.

I don't know where you hunt; but if you plan on hunting any open water and putting out big spreads (100+) I would look into getting a bigger boat.

I have a 16' xtra wide, xtra deep and by the time you put 100 blocks in there and four guys there is not a whole lot of extra room.

If you are hunting the timber and hunt with two or three guys, that wouldwork great.

Sounds pretty good. I hunted out of a 16' Xpress all season. Damn good boat. We carried 4 doz decoys, gear for 3 guys, couple of mojo's and my overgrown (130lb) Chessie, to the blind twice a week. The 35 hp Yamaha moved us along good down big water, and in and out of the small ditches. Good stable boat. Built well. What the hell it only money, and if we can't take it with us we may as well buy stuff. Good luck with it.
