I went down to the Illinois Deer and Turkey Expo today and I had one of the prostaffers to turn it into a single reed which he did with no charge. Thanks that was awesome!!!!! But I figured it was going to be louder than it was. Is there anything I can do to make it louder?

Wingslocked,
Glad the Pro-Staff took care of you good.....and as far as the call not being loud enough.......I guess if it NEEDS to be louder you need to tune it a bit harder and put more air through it.....but I am guessing if one of the guys tuned it up for you, it is probably where it needs to be to perform in the field.
If you tune the call harder, it will be louder because it will require more air pressure, but the call will be a bit more difficult to control because of the amount of air needed.....hope this helps....if it doesn't just keep askin, we will try and get you fixed up...

The more you trim off the reed the easier it is to blow. The easier it is to blow the quieter it is and the less ring it has. If you're wanting to blow it for comps..the rule is the louder the better. I suggest sending it back to the shop and have it tuned up harder or find a prostaffer in your area who has some reeds that can help u out. Good luck!
