Hey guys, just curious where the snows are. Cause I know there aren't hardly any here in Iowa yet. Just curious as to when they're gonna hit southeastern Iowa. Of course, this depends on the wind and weather. Gotta ask work off a week in advance.

The group I hunt with in southeast Iowa killed 1 Saturday, saw lots that didnt wanna play Sunday, and killed 7 yesterday. Might have to go down this weekend. I havent whacked any since last spring and am getting the itch.

Silverfoot, what refuge are you referring to? Swan lake or near it? Cause I know Swan lake is in north central Missouri so thats all I can think of.
But anyway, the boys killed 5 today(Wednesday). Heading down tomorrow night for the weekend. My dad hutned all day and said they probably saw 10,000 today jsut not enough wind to decoy them. Had the occasional bird or two drop out close enough to crank on. He said mostly adults still, though so that makes it tough. Ill post up friday and saturday.

Oh yeah, hey Al i'd think twice about going to CO instead of hunting spring break. Two weeks, it just might be the hot time to go.

The week of March 20-24. But I'll be out on the 16th since I dont have school Fridays. Unless it get really warm with south winds it should be a good week to hunt. I asked for the whole week off.

Hey boys,
Im down here is Missouri and I saw wave after wave of the snows heading north. I took the dogs out to do their duty and even heard tons more around 10:00 pm still flying. Get ready, sounds like theyre coming. I would sure love to get in on that action. Good luck.

No luck on Friday and Saturday boys. We saw flock of about 150 high and pressurized that never even looked at us and one other flcok of about 30 that circled twice high and away they went. Saturday, we saw 5 or 6 flocks, including one flock that I would guess numbered 1,000 birds!! We had 4 break off a small bunch and they got to about 150 yards and wouldnt get any closer. They circled and circled but jsut wouldnt do it. I think we're looking at virtually alladult birds still. Out of the 20 we have killed, 16 have been adults. Those same 4 came back about 20 minutes later but they still wouldnt play. They got to about 100 yards. It sucked bigtime.

Well I just got back from south central Iowa and there are tons of ducks and geese around. However I have yet to see any snows or blues. There was a flock of geese towards dark tonight that looked small enought to be snows but couldn't tell I was drivin down the highway and was trying to stay on the road. I thought I could hear some when I was out working but I never got a glass on them to see what was up. In years past the Mallards are around by the thousands and the Canadas are mixed with the Snows, Blues and Specks. But I feel that in a week or two we will have a couple good sized snow flocks around to pound on.
