The group I hunt with in SE Iowa killed 5 today(Wednesday). My dad hunted all day and told me they probably saw about 10,000 birds!! He said if they woulda had more wind they coulda killed more. He said almost every flock took a look, hovering 100 yards high with the occasional bird or two dropping out and getting whacked. Gonna head down tomorrow night after work and hunt Friday and Saturday, maybe sunday and monday if it gets good and I can get someone to work for me. We are up to 20 birds so far. I'll post after I kill Friday!! Hopefully! I wanna get a big blue for the wall to put with my snow.

The ND hotline was updated today 3/1/06. Here it is:
Tom Jenson updated the ND Game and Fish hotline today 3/1/06, here is a quick summary:
The migration is progressing north, with snows reaching SD. Light geese have moved into southern SD in good numbers with more expected with the forecasted high temps in the 50's and 60's.
In ND, there have been some reports of snows mixed with canadas along the Missouri river near Bismarck. However there have been no huntable numbers reported in the state yet.
ND wetlands remain frozen over, and should stay that way for a while since the forecast calls for high temps in the 20's and 30's with lows in the teens.
He reminds hunters that species identification is important as light geese do travel with white fronts and canadas.
