When somebody is really interested in buying a call and is trying to find one tuned a certain way or they just want to try something new or what ever it dosen't get to me at all. My pet peave is somebody who lets a real little kid like 3 or 4 yrs old pick calls up shove them half way into their mouth blow as hard as they can into them like it's a kazoo and then slam it back down on the rack and pick up another and do it all over again and the parents think it's so cute    . Don't get me wrong I am not against kids or getting kids started in the outdoors at a early age but I am against somebody not respecting another persons property. Don't want to sound like a CRAB A$$ just doing a little off season venting, Johnny McDonnell

Yeah I know what you are talkin about and I think that can be expected out of kids, NO RESPECT at ANY age. But when I was at burlington there were some kids who had to be straight out of diapers blowin' duck calls like mad! I found myself looking for the person calling and glancing down to see a little 3 y/o.

Yeah, my seven year old son, is getting pretty decent on his goose call, my 5 year old and 3 year old still have some trouble, but they are learning.
I think the little kids blowing calls like kazoos and slamming them down, is the parents fault, I wouldn't let my kids even touch the calls they see at shows.

Max4gooser, you hit the nail on the head about the parents. I really see it happen at the bigger "outdoor" shows where people come strolling through and have absolutly no idea how much a custom call costs or all the time and craftsmanship that goes into turning, polishing, tuning and hand polishishing that goes into the calls before the hit the rack.

We usually pull a couple of poly legends out of the boxes and those are for the kids to hammer on. When the little ones reach for the acrylics I quickly let the parents know..."Isnt that a beautifull call? We've got those at $150 this weekend." They usually grab the kids hand back if they are just window shopping.
It's a balancing act at shows. Some shows are waterfowl shows and everyone who comes to the booth is interested in the calls. Some like the ISE shows are just outdoors shows. Many of the people who hit the booth just wander through and their kids stop them to see the noise makers. You just have to be cool with everyone but keep the goods from getting damaged at the same time.
I never get tired of helping guys learn to call, I never get tired of hearing guys try them.

I know after watching the goose contest at Burlington and walking into the pool room where all the call makers were set up, I was ready to go. Dont get me wrong. Im a hardcore waterfowler and a good highball or double cluck is usually music to my ears, but enough was enough. We left shortly after the goose contest. And then after we left and got into my Explorer, all the turds that were(Kingkilla,Jclasen0124, and Iowamigr8tor) with me thought they were in the contest. Blowing all their calls as hard as they could in my enclosed car. Ohh trust me, its not loud or annoying!!!!
