I am very intrested in contest calling. I have called in a couple of contest to get my feet wet I am solid and confident with my basic sounds and can make a good spit note, but as far as the train and the willis I dont really know where to start as far as making the notes. I practice religiously every day I just need a little advise as far a these couple notes. And also if anyone knows of any competitions in the midwest I would like to give them a shot. Thanks alot!

My advice is to listen to routines as much as you can until you can teach yourself the notes on your own,....I know alot of guys will say you need to listen to this or that video to learn from the pro's on how to make the proper notes but if you are proficient with your call...just listening to other guys routines you can just go over it and over it until you can hit the notes on your own, every guy will blow a call a little different then the next....tongue position, force of air into the call hand size and minipulation to create the back pressure to make those notes.....just keep doing what your doing....all those notes will come by learning at your own speed.....just this evening...I have been working on what I think is Big Seans coolest notes in his routine....his push moan....I have been working on it for weeks trying to figure out what he is doing to create the note...I had no clue but kept trying...bam!...I got it....I won't mix it into my routine exactly as he has but it is a cool note to add to what I already do...kinda got off my subject but like I was saying...keep working on it and you will get what notes you want out of your call...GOOSE

Foldem......
hey man....don't be afraid to blow in contests because you can't to a train note or some other fancy stuff...hey, sometimes the judges want to hear nothin' but straight up good old fashion goose..........that stuff will come later....till then....build yourself a routine and get some stage time....
GOOD LUCK
