ive got a question for you guys, My call is tuned pretty light and i can make it sound pretty good but it seems like if i try blowing a competion callers calls they seem to take a lot more air and i was wondering if there is any advantages to having your call blow harder

the harder the call is tuned the louder it is. this is why competition calls are tuned this way. you need volume for comps.

By tuning your call harder, it will indeed blow harder because there is more reed showing above the wedge. It will also give you the ability to have more volume when blowing the call, and lastly, I guess it would be considered an advantage, is that a harder tuned called will help build your air pressure over time. Once your air pressure is built up, it will seem like you are blowing your call as it was when it was tuned lighter, but you will be able to have more call control at this stage. I don't know, thats my $0.02, hope this helps..........
