It seems there are sure a lot of benelli shooters on this site. An I am wondering if anyone has ever had any problems with them like I have had. My M1 camo worked great all summer shooting sporting clays three days a week, but as soon as the temp dipped below 40 it would jam/ not shut tight after closing chamber. Traded that one in and got a sbe took it out hunting shot 3.5 shells and it would jam every time. Both guns were cleaned very often thinking this was the problem. used sythetic oil, G96 militech, eesox. and nothing helped. Bought a Beretta and have not had any problems with that(390 gold sport). Just curious if anyone has had similar problems? thanks

personally i don't shoot one, but alot of my clients do and i always end up giving my gun to one of them to shoot. but i know other people who never have problems. think alot of it is more user problems than gun problems.

Any auto gun can be prone to a variety of maladies. the benelli tends to come out of battery very easily of you set the gun down with anything other than a feather touch and it won't return to battery without intervention. the surecycle system absolutely clears this problem up. I've seen the same proble with the 2's...

I have heard mixed reviews on the Benelli's, most of them which happend to be good. They are without a doubt a good gun. My uncle has a M1 and it jammed up on him pheasant hunting using 3in loads.
I like the Beretta's.

I think someone is throwing down the gauntlet!!!!!! :D
Never had a problem with mine in about 4 years, but when I bought it a friend told me not to use too much oil when cleaning . Maybe thats why!!

The gun has proven itself to me, and my buddies have had the same good luck with them. just my 2 cents berettas are also good guns to

I have an m1 and have had it for 3 years. It has jammed on me twice once when it was sleeting and freezing cold. The other was after shooting alot of estate BBB's. They are the dirtiest shells i have ever seen. Otherwise it has been the most reliable gun ever. My brother also has an SBE and it has never jammed in the 4 years he has had it.

I won't deny it. It only happened to me one day this year, but it did it twice.....both times we had honkers in our face. Oh well, next flock she barked twice and 2 large splashes followed. :D A buddy and I were hunting out of our Finishers and I musta been pumping it. I'll admit that I was really getting pi$$ed off.
Like iowagooser, I've had my SBE a little over 4 years. While hunting, it has jammed only twice. Once was 2 seasons ago when it was 8 degrees out. I took one shot at a lone greenhead and folded him, but then found my gun had jammed. The other time was on a flock of snows. I put one on the ground and then it jammed.....we hunt in a field that is more sand than dirt.
I'd would guess that I have shot around 6-7 cases of shells through it while hunting in the past 4 years with 2 jams and a handful of "click" incidents.
If I didn't have a Benelli, I'd probably own an X3. Beretta's are good guns, I just hate how they feel.....the Xtremas specifically.

I've never had a problem with my SBE II, however I did have an old Beretta 303a semi-auto, and it was the most expensive single shot I ever purchased, I have used a Beretta 390 and it worked flawlessly so I guess every brand can have problems.

I had a SBE original for 11 years with never a jam... I even had it go head to head with a Beretta AL390 my brother has in a function test....different shells seeing whose would function and my SBE ran 7/8 oz trap loads that the Beretta wouldn't. I had 1 jam last season on film with my SBE2 and it was a hull that was split and hung up getting jacked out....I had had buddies 870 and Novas freeze up on a cold snow hunt that my SBE ran fine through..........my brothers and cousins all have Rems. and they have a tough time in bad weather....gas guns in general are slower in the freezing temps they sound like a bolt.....
everyone has their opinions I guess shoot what you like!!!! if I couldn't shoot a Benelli it would be a Beretta....if I couldn't shoot a Beretta I'd buy and OU. But that is my opinion.

hey fellas, I appreciate the feedback. I guess its kinda like trucks whatever works for you is what your gonna use. But when Im watching tom knapp shoot in little falls mn two years ago bragging about benellis and then his jams it just leaves me to think they might not have their Inertia system perfected yet. My wife shoots an m1 and that particular gun works good but 1300 for that sbe I had it was the most expensive paper weight Ive ever owned.
I guess thats why they say to each his own. And in my eyes its Beretta, Chevy, tri tronics, greenhead gear, foiles, remington shells, labradors, andbriley choke tubes>
Thanks again and have a good one

I am with Tyler on this one. I would have bought one but did not like the way it felt or swung.
I have had 1 jam and no clicks in 6 years, with the M1 or SBE II
