Hey guys, I was just wondering what your favorite moments were from this past season.
1. I shot a 167 2/8 net Boone and Crocket Whitetail
2. Calling in three honkers with my mouth and folding 2 of them
3. Shooting my first speck

I had a couple, I shot a nice 140" 9pt. on opening day of gun 10 or 15 min. after daylight. Several great days of hunting, in early season 1st day out, I took my son for his first time he's 5, Duck Hunter Paul and me limited out on ducks and 1 short of geese after 1 hr. of hunting. Also shot our limit of wood ducks that day. We hunted a new spot for the 1st time and had apx. 1500 geese fly in on us. I shot my 1st triple ever, 3 ducks fell in one shot. We had 1 time out, me, Duck Hunter Paul and his 2 brother in laws, we all 4 limited out in 15 or 20 min., it was fast and furious, ducks falling so fast and all over the place, my dog and I couldn't keep up with where they all where, one go round probably 8 or 9 fell.

Well lets see, I killed 5 banded honkers this year. I think that pretty much sums it up. Me, my dad, my uncle, and another guy killed our limit of 8 honkers outta one bunch and 7 of them had iron. I killed 2 with 2 shots. Also, I seemed to shoot better this year than past and doubled on ducks and geese pretty frequently. Im only 19, so Im still improving from year to year.

And also, 2 of my 3 of my buddies got their first bands as well. Iowamigr8tor, kingkilla, and iawaterfowler88 all shot banded honkers this year. Unfortunately I wasnt there for any of them. But Kingkilla did film me dumping 2 honks with 2 shots and the first one had iron!! Perfect camera work on them too. He followed the second bird down cause he knew I was done. You can see and here them smacking the water. Ohh yeah!!!

GooseGetter, congrats on joining the B&C Club, I killed a 172 5/8 Typ NET back in 96. IT is a great feeling to open the book and read your name.
Hoosier sounds like you had a pretty good deer season too, congrats.
Probably the most memerable hunts for me was when my self and two buddies took one their 12 year old nephews with us. He was very entertaining to say the least, never realized I was so out of touch with the younger generation. The best was when we where shooting at some spoonies trying to sneak through at the outer edge of our decoys, I was shooting the Benelli with 3.5"BB (primarily goose hunting), my buddy was shooting his 10 gauge, and the kid was shooting a 20, these birds where a bit out of his range, and the other buddy says who shot em, and the kid with out missing a beat, claims them. It was a pretty good time all together.

From this season and probably the best one of my life. I took my five year old son out with me for an afternoon goose hunt just the two of us. We set up side by side in our finshers. And he spotted a lone goose out in front of us locked on the spread. He told me dad I will call this one, a few honks and clucks the bird was right in our faces getting ready to put down. I took out the left wing and the bird crashed to the ground. Dylan sprung up in his finsher after hearing the shot to see the bird stand up. we both got out of the blinds and I kneeled down took a bead on the bird and left him touch the trigger off. He went down and picked up the bird and dragged it back to the blind and pumped his fist in the air I got him. I have been blessed to harvest my fair share of birds but this lone goose on a cold January afternoon ment more to me than I can ever possibly explain.....
I know that he is hooked for life.....

Thanks man there is nothing spending time with a child in the outdoors. I wish I would have had someone to take me out when I was a youngster more..

As a teacher and a Varsity basketball coach in the high school, I have a young manager who has always been interested in hunting. Clayton earned his hunting license last summer and the money to buy his first pump shotgun Remington 870 Youth model. He was so excited about opening day, it was like Christmas for him. We camped on Lake Champlain. At first light Clayton shot his first duck, a beautiful green head mallard. I am having the local taxidermist mount the bird for all of his help and an incredible hunting buddy.

the best thing that happened all season was on the last day i rolled out my first drake canvas back witch happened to be a duck i really wanted plus my fetched it that was his fisrt retrive that was awsome. :D :D :D
My absolute best moment was when I took my 9 yr. old son on a hunt in sept. for early geese. That particular day, he got his first goose . I pulled one young bird out of a small flock and landed it. when it swam out from in front of some reeds I told him too shoot. He scalped it, head shot! He was so excited he had to sit down his knees were shaking so bad! What a rush, for me! another was his first black duck which he got this year as well. Another favorite, was when me and my gang shot 14 geese, but 13 were killed in an hour and a half! I got a band.
