Hey does anyone have any pics of ways to set up a video camera for hunting. I have a buddy that wants to come hunting with me and video tape but I dont want him bringing a shinny camera that is going to flare birds. Also I dont want him to have to ruin his camera by having to camo it. So I was thinkin about buyin a cheap VHS recorder and fixing it up but I need ideas of what to do.

I used the nomar removable gun tap in max-4 camo on mine, it works pretty good. You might look into a lens hood also, to knock down any glare.

We just run the cameraman in a blind. Drape some camo burlap or something aver him and the camera. You wont have much luck with putting it on a tripod and letting it run.

I am thinking that a videocamera with a good image stabilizer would be best then. I use a sony Mini-DV that has "Super Steady Shot" it helps out a lot for shooting hand held.
The camo job only took me about 20 minutes, with the tape. I would bet some left ovet removable camoclad would work too.

We use CamoClad on our cams. Image stabilizations works good but you have to turn it off if your panning a shot ot else it will jump on you.

This may kinda be the poor way way of doing it, which most things i do is lol But i have hunted with some of the commercial cameras that weren't camo ed in any way and they are expensive so the only way i knew to camo them and not hurt them was putting a camo t-shirt over them, you can pull the open sleeve over the lens and cut out any other place you need access to, i admit it looks redneck but it works fine.

Hell Gary that IS redneck. :D
We do the same thing in the winter, our cams are camo so we pull white shirts over them in the winter. Get a XXL shirt and you can pull it over the cameramans head as well and it conceals you very well.

We just put some camo tape on ours. We even left a pit door open surrounded it with shells and GHG's and it didnt flare birds.
