You can fit 5 dozen full bodies in a truck with a long box. Along with two blinds, guns and the dog. We did it last year!

We have 26 full bodies and 4 doz. shells and one doz. silo's. that will all fit in the back of a truck with no problems. and we didn't have trouble shooting birds here in Idaho and they get hammered hard here. they are smart here, any little thing wrong and they flair. but the mix seemed to work good for us! ! ! i think i have less than $500.00 in my set up!

McD where do you hunt in NC? I've got plenty of dekes and am always looking for a place to deploy them.

I live in Chapel Hill and yes I know it's tree huger capital of the world. But I mostly hunt the coast around Matamaskeet refuge some public and some privite impoundemts that some budys of mine own . But I love huntin swan we have the largest migratory flock of tundra swan on the east coast and a mess of outher east coast birds includeing snow geese. but lately we havent been seeing the larg numbers of birds that we are used to. over all north carolina is great for free lance hunting.

I really like shell decoys when space is at a premium. Higdons are pretty good, as are G&H and Avery. Getting them on stakes is important.

What about sillies?

justin what do you use for decoys on swans. Back in the day we use the old old old g&h mag. snows with a custom paint job. no one make a nice swan decoy!!!

we use to hammer'em in hertford county swan and geese. I think I was the only guy in the county that goose hunted, lot of deer and bear hunters around there.

One thing I didn't hear is what about the security of your items. How far away will your truck be? I hunt alot of public area and at times need to take multiple trips when hunting alone. Also are you driving out to where you are hunting or are you using a type of dolly to get the items out there? I have built a angle iron truck camper shell that I can put a layout on top of it with all my hunting items locked up. Since I have a Ford I can also lock up the tailgate so I'm 100 percent secure on get my items to the hunting spot without them blowing out or being t aken. Just something to think about is all. I have heard of too many people getting stuff stolen while out setting up or at a drawing.

I agree Rusty. Security plays a key part in the way I move my decoys. I travel the state chasing waterfowl which is why I chose an enclosed trailer. I can go in and pay for gas and not think twice about someone taking my decoys out of the back of my truck.

BUT don't ever fool yourself and think you are 100% secure. Locks keep honest people honest. And if someone wants into the bed of your Ford, they are going to get in.

Well to answer all of your questions first Tripp_kilintime the decoys I use are actuly a budys ofmine and he has about 50 of those flambeau grand magnum floaters/feild decoys and we painted them white mosstly cus the carry lite swan decoys are a huge rip, if you need the phone numberof the guy i hunt with I got it, oh and I love killin a good black bear any day. Rusty I have a dodge with a bed cover that llocks down and if any one thinks of stealing my decoys they got anouther thing comein lol . And most of the time I hunt permit only areas and im tipicly the only truck there. And im so lazy I would try to get all the decoys in one trip wich is prity bad becouse i dont have an ATV so it's a lot of hard walkin but I hear it bilds charector lol. Thanks for the ideas guys yall been a big help.
