Just wondering if anyone went up to Canada this year, and if so how'd you do? I live in Saskatchewan and this year and in my 8 hunts that I set up dekes for I killed 40 birds. 2 days I got 9 bird and 1 I got 10.

I went up to Miami, Manitoba the third week of October and we had a good time. 6 of us killed 127 ducks and 84 geese in five days. We had some slow hunts in there; but the days we were in the right fields we limited out pretty quick.
We didn't have any luck getting the snows to work. We haven't really hunted them before so we just took some rags with us and tried that and they wouldn't give us the time of day.
We killed all Canadians and mostly Mallards for the ducks. last year was the second year that I have been up there and we have a great time and learn a little more each year. Next year I am hoping that we can get into some specks and snows in addition to the other birds. It would be nice to be over 300 for the week.

This year wasn't too great for snows because of an early snow. It did push down plenty of mature snows and blues though. My buddy went out once with a local outfitter that we're going to working for this fall and 8 guys shot 80 snows and 64 ducks in one afternoon.

That early snow that you guys had kind of messed things up this year. The guy that we stay with said that a lot of local birds pushed out after that snow. We got up there about two weeks after you got that storm and most of the birds that we shot were migrators from the interlake region in Manitoba.
I would love to get a shoot like you are talking about with snows and the ducks. We got into the ducks one morning in 2004 when we were up there and we took our 8 bird limits in less than twenty minutes, but we couldn't get the snows to decoy.
