A trip to the local yacht club landed me this for $80.00 should make for a great layout when finished.
Lenght 14' 4"
Width 48"
Height 15"
Cockpit 8' 5"
Aprox weight when finished 100lbs
1 hours worth of work total dissasembly and ready for building. splash rails and motor bracket, floatation and paint are next.

Barry, that should work great for a layout boat! Wish I could find something like that for $80. :( But since everything is flooded around here, there is going to be very little vegetation for the ducks in the water. Normally, the places we hunt are seeded by air with Japanese Millet and other grasses and such mixed in. One place we hunt is corn normally, but it won't be corn. Derek is getting me and Al a trailer :lol: instead of me and derek buying layouts. We're probably going to do alot of field hunting this year, which is fine by me.

Your layout got me all juicy j so I looked up some Sunfish sail boats and I found a guy that has a 10 footer and he wants to give it away. Ha.

Sunfish sail boats
Is that what kind of boat that is...or what it's called? That is one hell of an idea. Gonna start looking. Lot cheaper than $2000.
its a sunfish, but it has the name super porpoise on it and there made in here in MI.

true, but this will be used for getting through small creeks that my larger boat wouldnt have and i usually hunt from the shore in cover so this wont be an issue.
