try feeding him in it or giving him a treat in it. This worked for me. Now my dogs love just being in it. Good Luck

I too have an FA Mutt Hut.
I take it you don't use a kennel for anything (transport, etc.). If you did, I would say, use the "kennel up" command.
Legacy's idea worked for me as well. I brought mine in the house and got Scout to lay in it while watching TV. Lately I've been taking it out to the training field where I get Scout in it ("kennel up"); throw a bumper; shoot a starter pistol over him then send him after it. Now he associates fun with the Mutt Hut and goes crazy when he sees me carrying it.

I agree I think if you use the command kennel for the dog to get into the truck or into his kennel it will come much easier. The one thing I can suggest is if the dog doesnt go into the mutt hut dont not punish him because they will associate the blind with punishment. You want the dog to have fun when using the blind and he will kennel much easier. When the dog goes into the blind give him lots of praise. I hope this helped alittle.

I have always used the kennel command for all my other kennels and crates so I just set up my mutt hutt away from the othe crates and told him "kennel" and he goes right in. Maybe I was lucky with my dog, I don't know.

I've been putting my dog in it while i shoot some rock just to get her in a routine, and now she kennels without the command.

A couple pieces of Goose Jerky and Boomer was in the blind.
He'll do anything for Goose jerky ! :P
I don't have the Mutt hut, but I made an equivalent "hide" for my boy.

Thanx,
The trick to takin' good pics is to get down to the same level as your subject.
Downward shots just don't come out as nice. Not to say your pic sucks or anything.
Is that the new or older model Mutt Hutt ?

It's last year's model. The new one is smaller and shaped like a taco opened up at about a 45 degree angle.

I trained my dog from the time he was a pup the kennel command, it works for the truck, dog blind, crate or his dog bed. They are right don't punish him for not going in, it will just make it harder to get him to do it. A dog treat should get him in there, making him stay is another matter.

I have one of whose fold up wire kennels for my lab so when I got the hut I just told him kennel and of course he wouldn't go it. I eventually got him to reach into it to get a treat but that it. So I folded up the real kennel put the hut in a sameplace as the kennel. Everytime I walked by I'd say kennel. The next day I went to work and when I got home he was inside sleeping. Now he goes into it all the time inside and when I take it out in the field for training.
Hope this helps
