It's looking like a great here too. We got a farm pond holdin about that many birds minus the neckcollars. The farmer wants them gone bad...I'd never seen geese do what these birds are doing to his soybeans. Plus we've got 3 cut wheat fields and a barley field holding birds so we can't wait. Only problem is it's been raining alot lately and the green is starting to grow quickly...hopefully it's not too tall come Sept 1.

well i was all pumped up for the opener but now the lake i was hoping to hunt, the geese changed up their flights. Damn residents know the area to well and change up to much. I gotta look for a new spot for now. If it is raining i will hit up my buddies golf coarse. If all else fails i can go whack some doves and lots of em.

A buddy of mine was telling me today that he has over a hundred geese right now landing in his fresh cut grain field. September 4th is opener for us I think, and we are allowed 8 geese per guy. They gonna get pounded like crazy, ha ha! Lets go Sept. 4th

In less than 24 hours I hope to be cleaning geese and having a cold Busch Light.....Although they were supposed to cut our fields yesterday and they didn't, so the opener looks bleak for us, so it may just be a Cold Busch Light and no geese this time tommorrow! :D

If it's a normal ag practice there are no restrictions. So if by "picking" you mean normal combining with no purposeful scattering of grain you can hunt it the same day if you want. But don't take my word for it, read the baiting regulations on the USFWS website so if you get checked you'll at least be knowledgeable enough on the regs that they shouldn't hassle you.
