I shoot a Nova for my 12 gauge, and a BPS for my 10 Gauge, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either to anybody. Both great guns. Between the Remington and the Mossburg, I have to pick the Mossy everytime.
Either of the guns you mention would probably work great, just try to pick the one the best fits you.

For a pump shotgun, I've had Remington 870's and they are a great gun! I'd buy another one in a heartbeat, I personally would not buy the Mossberg, they are cheaply built in my opinion. The Browning BPS is a great pump also. I personally don't care much for the Benelli Nova, I know they are a good gun, I just don't like the rattling noise they make on the slide, just to noisy for me, especially if you are thinking about turkey hunting also. Don't bother with a Winchester pump. Hope this helps, but like Gooser said handle them and see which one fits you best.

Check out the Benelli Nova. It will handle 3.5" shells, and is lighter than the Remington, or Browning. Cost less to.

I would recommend the Nova. They seem to be the most consistent as far as reliability out of the box. I bought 2 870s a few years back, one for me and one for the wife. The wifes works flawlessly, mine is at the bottom of a pond. It would stick on 3" shells, you had to slam it on the ground to eject them after you shot. After I only got 1 shot at a flock of geese at about 5 yds I threw it as far as I could and never looked back.

If your going to get a pump I would also get a 870 they have been very reliable, I would not go with a mossburg they are junk and most of them are better off as a boat anchor. The nova is cheap looking, and makes alot of noise .
Keep your powder dry and the wind at your back

I had an 870 wingmaster for years, and I never had a problem. I put many thousand rounds through that baby nad she never let me down. I finally retired it a few years ago and bought a couple beretta autos.

I would recommend a Benelli Nova if you are looking at a pump. I shot one since they came out and only got rid of mine when I purchased my SBE 2. But thats just my opinon.

Are you looking at the mossberg 835 or the 500? Two completely different firearms. (not only in chamber, but the way they are made) Same goes for the Remington 870 Express and the Wingmaster.
My opinion would be the Nova or BPS, followed by a remington 870 wingmaster, Mossberg 500, Remington 870 express, Mossberg 835.
It all comes down to what you are doing, and how the gun feels to you. If you want a 1 gun for everything I would stay away from the 835. I would not want to carry the weight of that gun around chasing upland game, but if it is laying in the corn field weight is not an issue.
If your body frame is small then a large heavy gun is going to work against you also. So, the 835 may not be right either.
I can't make a suggestion in what you should get, only what I would buy. Hope that helps!

I'd go with the Browning BPS or the Benelli Nova.
