This is something that I can't figure out , Some Videos and Cd's tell you to keep your tongue down . and others tell you to cut the air off with your tongue. When I blow into my call I leave the tip of my tongue down behind my bottom front teeth , but when I cluck the back or middle of it always comes to the roof of my mouth . It sounds pretty good but I have trouble getting fast on the call . If I leave my tongue down the whole time it sounds all right but it isn't very sharp , and its very hard to do more than one or two clucks. I can also leave my tongue down the whole time and move my jaw up and down and that sounds fine also. I read on here before to leave the tongue down . Do all you guys leave it down or what . If so any tips would be helpful.

I call exactly the same as you. You just need to train your diaphram to get faster.

That is my problem also. I can make all of the individual sounds. Hail, Comeback, Feeder,Cluck, Moan ect. But for me it is trying to run them all together and make them sound normal.

Kelly is right, just gotta build your air and diaphragm. And once you are able to have some more air and are able to make all the sounds.....keep that tongue down, the air comin out, and string the notes together by varying air pressure and by varying the back and middle tongue position. That is what has worked for me in the past.....hope this helps you.

Sounds like everone here is mostly using the back part of the tongue to cut off the air. Some of the best callers I know tell me they use both the back part of the tongue and then the front part when they want to be faster. Anyone else doing this?

What has been said is exactly how I do it as well. The only time I use the front of my tongue is when blowing a spit or willis note.
