I tune mine basically the same as my SMH. The difference in this call for me is handplacement. My two cemts

nice...........how easy should the reed slide up and down in the call when i'm trying to tune it? can you guys pull or push the reed up and down without adjusting the wedge?

The reed should be tight. The toneboard and wedge should need a slight twist to free them up, adjust the reed, and then holding the "guts" as one unit; push into the insert until seated tightly. Tough to describe in typed words. Long story short; no, the reed should not move up and down without moving the wedge.

don't feel so bad about not getting it to sound right. I had mine new and it sounded great, now i am a little better with the goose call and i just cant get it to sound right either. Had a few guys mess with it and still sounds really buzzy or tin can-ish. I just think that certain voice tones dont work well with that call.

I bought the Vodka in NoDak cause the bottle was shaped like a shotgun, JD is from the DU banquet last year, and my girl collects Buddas...that one just happens to be green so it matches my hunting room.
