Sweets and Big Marsh are some good hunt'n. Up around waterloo. Went there during early season and there were ducks and geese everywhere. The only thing that sucks is that Goose hunting is closed.

Well the goose being closed on sweets is great thing.
My brother in laws hunting land is on that hwy 63 curve left side West of 63. So we could shot geese on that side of the road.

When I went up there we geese everywhere it was cool to see all the geese but depressing knowing that in two weeks they won't be able to be hunted. There are deffinatly alot of waterfowl up there.

I have never heard of Denver Iowa or sweets marsh. I hunt Saylorville pretty hard, but I hunt alot with my dad in southeastern Iowa on the Mighty Miss. We hunt permanent blinds and leave dekes out all season. Its so handy to not have to mess with putting out and picking decoys!

Hey Miller if things work out this year and I get my Jon Boat that I want Ill take you and the guys up for an early season hunt up there. Big marsh has a refuge right in the middle of it and the ducks pile into the marsh. I havent hunted sweets but here it is pretty good. Denver is strait north of waterloo.

Derek that would be awesome. I;m fixin' on putting an Avery Quickset blind on my 16 footer by duck season this year. I only have an 18 hp old Evinrude on it now but my dad is gonna buy a plate boat this summer. I think he'll trade me the Evinrude for his '97 30 hp Mariner. Might have to give him a little money for it but it would be worth the extra power and dependability of a newer motor. Do you fish alot? Cause me Al and Dekker fish hardcore for mainly crappie and cats but walleye too. Gonna go alot this summer. You are welcome to tag along.
