When I was out scouting I couldnt figure out where all the wheat fields went to. I know we had alot more than usual this spring. but now there all gone. monday mornin I went up to caseys and asked some of the farmers they said the wheat was so bad they made more money plantin corn or beans right over the wheat. Ive lost three early season spots beacause of this. Does anyone have this same problem???

Its a common practice in Missouri to plant no-till beans right after the wheat harvest. However, some no-till beans don't grow very good and I have seen geese land in an unharvested no-till bean field.

It never used to happen around here until a few years ago and now it is becoming more popular to plant beans in the cut wheat. Although the farmers around here don't do it for crop but to put nutrients back into the soil...but we got so much rain at the end of July and throughout August that some farmers I think will get some crop. It does suck if you lose you field though.
