I like the active style personally. I used to hunt with a guy that would use as many active and non-feeder style decoys as he could. I like a nice balance; but I tend to lean towards the active style. His theory was that when geese see other birds approaching that they have their heads up and are calling at them and watching them. I don't really have anything to back up that theory; it was just an opinion.

I hope that helps.

My personal preference would be at least 6 feeders and 6 actives. Maybe even all 12 feeders. You don't need many high lookers, IMHO.

I agree if you have to many high lookers your spread looks like a bunch of nervous geese or geese that are getting ready to fly off. I would go with some active, or some feeders. You cant go wrong with a bunch of feeders. This is all just my opion though.

Keep your powder dry and the wind at your back.

Josh...I think you would be better off with 6 feeders. But if you want to go with the "sentry" style - go with actives. A spread of the size you have with 12 lookers would not look like a relaxed and content flock of birds. You can use the actives more than the lookers. But, I think feeders would do you more good right now with what you have.

I agree with everything that has been said, for sure! I also believe the situation and the time of the year should also dictate what your spread should look like. We really noticed that later in the year more sentrys helped make our spread look more like the actual big, late season, weary flocks that were in alot of the fields. Ive been tossing around what style to buy with some tax refund money and ended up buyin the GHG Actives to round out my hunting parties spread. To have yours versatile all year, I would also buy either feeders out actives. Cabelas has Life Size GHG's right now for 119.00. Good luck!!

I would go with feeders I personally like to run 3feeder for every sentry it gives a more relaxed look.

I am in agreement with more Feeders, since most the FB's come in 4 packs, maybe consider 4 active and 4 feeders, I would keep the high lookers down to a minimum or like Spence said, they will look too nervous. Good luck, which ones are you looking at?
