Does anyone know if its possible to convert an 870 that shoots 2 3/4s to a 3inch? I already have a 3inch barrel for the gun. Just didn't know if it was possible, how hard it would be, price and if its safe?

you're going to be cheaper buying a new 870.
You'll need to buy a new action and bolt as well. I'm not sure about the slide arms. I would think that they would be the same across the board. But don't quote me on that.

I totally agree that I'd be better off buying a new one. This gun just has sentimental value to me, being that it was my dads.

As long as the receiver says its a magnum, you should be good.

i think that the ejection holes on the side of the reciever are a little longer on 3.5 guns, to accomodate for the longer hull, but im not 100% on that, i would just say keep the gun, and get yourself a new 870 mag, for what you would spend to make that gun 3.5 your better off just buying a new one like Jermey said,
but honestly, both of my guns are only chambered for 3in shells and i never have a problem putting birds on the ground....so i would say just use that one why shell out the extra $$ on 3.5 shells and just keep stackin birds on that guns history...

I visited remingtons website and found a place in Minnesota where they've actually have quite a few orders to switch an 870 t0 chamber 3inch. 65 dollars without shipping. So I'm just going to do that. Thats for the help guys.
