If you are wanting a duck call to start on; I would say either a BGB Death Whistle or a Foiles Legend. Both of these calls won't break the bank and capable of producing the same soundds the high end acrylic calls do. If money is of no concern, try a BGB Smokin Double or a Foiles Timber Rattler. Both tuned in double reed, they can be very forgiving for a caller with less experience. If you are new to duck calling all together; I suggest that you try a double reed style call. They tend to be a bit raspier right out of the box.

A Dead Meat Mallard is also a viable option if you have the coin. I find it to be a very versatile call, good top end and I can get a good chuckle out of it too.
I'm with Kent County Killer, all of these calls will get the job done and anyone of these are a great addition to your arsenal. I'd suggest test driving them first to see which one fits your calling style the best.

STRAIT SUZIE is another great call that is inexpensive but a great call
If you are new to calling I suggest buying calling ducks 2.0 dvd. i would also suggest the timber rattler double reed. buy an acrylic call becasue they are a better overall call and they are guaranteed by foiles.

I would recommend a DR TR as well for an acrylic call but if you're just looking for an inexpensive first duck call you may want to try a Haydels DR-85 its a cheap poly call that is fairly easy to learn on and has a good sound to it. I know it's blasphemy to mention anything besides foiles calls on this forum but I started on a haydels and I hunt with a guy thats blown one for like 30 years and it only costs like 16 bucks. But whatever you do make sure you try them out first if possible, just go to the store and start blowing and see which one sounds good to you and that you are comfortable with, it doesn't matter how much it costs because if you feel comfortable blowing it and if you think you sound good you'll work at it harder and not get discouraged as easy. My second goose call was a SMH and I bought it about a week after I bought my first goose call which was a cheap HS slammer and it sounded like crap but at least I learned the basic notes so when I went back to scheels and started blowing calls and talking to the guy working there I was able to find a call I was comfortable blowing and now I always blow a call before I buy it if possible, otherwise you may spend alot of money on something that sounds like you're farting in some bagpipes.

primos wench is an ok call for about 18 bucks. i personally LOVE cutt down game calls coco/acrilic they are 30 bucks. and like allready said the hadel dr-85 is a great call but not as durable (strong, tuff ) as the wench.
