they have been gobblin' and struttin here in central IL for a while, went out last weekend to listen and heard a few but they shut up when they hit the ground. I'll probably go out to listen in the morning our season opens up monday.

You're goin w/ me then!! I'll call ya, but keith and I are goin' up to our farm and splittin' up to cover more ground. I guess Demaster is gonna come up and film on Wednesday so I guess i'll skip mondays opener. It was like pullin' teeth to switch days at work. Anyway...let's get on em in the mornin' and get tore up from the floor up at the migratory banquet!!!!

Went out yesterday and scouted around saw 4 longbeards in full strut with about 12 hens out in one of the fields, no gobbling heard though, we have 2 more weeks here till season. Good luck to you all, make sure and post some pics of the birds!

We still have 21 days to go here in PA . Can't wait to get out though. Hope this years first day is going to be better than the last 3 . Three years in a row I've been working birds and someone cut in front of me . 2 out of the 3 shot the birds. Never found out about the other guy.

I'm right with ya Josh...same deal the past two years!!!   It just irritates the hell out of me. Last year, had a guy walking out of the woods. I could see him coming so I shut up on the call. The ole tom didn't though...he just kept hammering. Well, the guy cuts me off...sitting about 75 yards in front of me and 10 yards to my left. I never touched the call again....and he didn't either. That ole tom just kept coming right for me. Well, the bird was about 60 yards from me...walked by that guy...when the guy finally saw it and shot it    I just stood up and saids "THANKS BUDDY  "...he just smiled liked he'd planned it that way and walked off with his bird.

I can only hope this year will be better.....but my hunting on opening morning will be slim this year. I have to be at the deal in Bessemer for the seminar and show around 12 or so.

GOOD LUCK FELLAS!!!!!

Demaster and I went to my farm today...Had birds everywhere until today. 25 mph winds you couldn't even hear yourself think. Never heard a bird, and only saw 2 hens. Saw lots of resident ducks and geese though. Gonna get back on em friday a.m. then this weekend.
