So I got married 2 weeks ago and my new wife got me a timber rattler for a wedding gift. But it is tuned a little to high pitched for me. I was wondering what I need to do to get it tuned in a little lower and whether I should attempt this myself or send it in to the shop, she ordered it from foiles so it's not like it's tuned bad it's just not as low as I'd like. Or are there any prostaffers around Omaha, NE that could help a brother out. I Finally get to go hunting this saturday for the first time this year and I'd like to be able to use my new call. It's a double reed setup and I really have no idea what to do, I have to Callin ducks 2.0 video but that doesn't really give me a whole lot to go on. Any help would be great.

Thanks
Gary

Single or double reed? Generaly the TR is very soft and raspy. Air presentation plays a big part on how this call sounds, have you tried using less air?

BTW Congrats on getting Married!

I'll shoot you a PM on how to tune your call this afternoon. It's not hard at all.

Thanks Barry. I have tried less air and it does get a little better but it still just sounds a little higher pitched than I like. I blew one exactly like it at cabela's and loved the sound it made this one is just a little on the high side for me.

Thanks Guys, i trimmed the corners just a bit and it seems to have taken the tone down a little bit so I'll mess with it like this for a little while and see how I like it.

Once you make a change leave it that way for a few days before you change it again. That way you get to hear it with fresh ears.
